Saturday, September 23rd at Schuba’s with The Wooks and Growler
One of the shows we’re most excited to play (and see) this fall is coming up next weekend at Schuba’s! On Saturday, September 23rd we’ll be opening for The Wooks, a fantastic band from Kentucky who won last year’s RockyGrass band competition and were just nominated for an International Bluegrass Music Association Momentum Award. They were our favorite discovery from our trip to the John Hartford Memorial Festival this spring and we’re thrilled be sharing a bill with them. Our Chicago friends Growler will also play a set. Don’t miss this great night of bluegrass! Saturday 9/23 at 9pm. $14 tickets available HERE.
Highlights from Our Album Release Show
In honor of tonight’s return to the Hideout ( Picnics on the Porch | Friday, July 7th, 2017 | 6pm | $10 ), we’re sharing some videos from our last show there. Here is a playlist with highlights from our ‘Keep Me Waiting‘ album release show back in May, filmed by Tim Brown.
Picnics on the Porch
Looking forward to returning to the Hideout tomorrow night to kick off this summer’s Picnics on the Porch series! These events were our favorite set of gigs last summer and helped spark a writing streak that led to a bunch of the songs on ‘Keep Me Waiting,’ so we’re stoked to be returning. They’re mixing it up from week to week this year and we’re in excellent company, so if you miss us tomorrow, be sure to check out some of the other great acts planned for Fridays in July and August. 6pm. $10. Picnic dinners from Local Foods available for purchase.

Just picked up this beautiful limited run of hand-printed posters by Dan Spielman at Zerobird studio for next Friday’s album release show at The Hideout.

Then, next Saturday, December 10th we’re joining forces with the Wandering Boys and Glass Mountain for a night of bluegrass at the Hungry Brain. 2319 W Belmont Ave. 8pm. $10 in advance / $12 at the door. Poster by Zerobird Studio.

Picnics on the Porch and Sugar Maple Fest
Last week ruled! Thanks to everybody that came out last Friday and helped sell out the kickoff of our Picnics on the Porch series with Stock Cafe at The Hideout. We also had an incredible day at the Sugar Maple Traditional Music Festival in Madison, WI on Saturday. What a treat to get to play music in such magical spots! Sugar Maple highlights included running into friends from Montana that we hadn’t seen in ages and watching The Down Hill Strugglers, Finnders & Youngberg, and Aoife O’Donovan and her rocking trio. Hope to make it back to the festival next year!
We’ll be at The Hideout tomorrow night, 8/12 from 6-7:30pm for week two of our August residency. The show happens rain or shine and Dan Fuchs will be joining us on dobro. You can also find us Saturday night, 8/13 at 10:30pm at the Honky Tonk BBQ in Pilsen. See you out there!
